The practical superconducting thin film team of Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory was established under the initiative and support of Academician Zhao Zhongxian, a Chinese superconducting and cryogenic physics scientist and winner of the highest national science and technology award. , low temperature technology, design and construction of large-scale particle accelerators, etc., to solve the key technical problems of superconducting thin films faced by the country, and to open up the main chain from basic research to practical application. The team is committed to the goal of practicality, to do "no man's land", and to build a base and team of practical superconducting films with world influence in Songshan Lake, Dongguan.

 

 

Project Meaning

 

Superconducting technology has been hailed as the most economically strategic emerging technology in the 21st century. A very important direction in the development of superconducting technology is superconducting thin film technology. Compared with digital circuits made of semiconductor materials, digital circuits based on superconducting films have the characteristics of faster speed, less loss and greater capacity. A superconducting quantum interferometer made of superconducting thin films can detect a magnetic field that is thousands of times weaker than that of the human brain, so it can not only be used to monitor the activity of the lungs, brain and heart, but also to measure the strength of the magnetic field. Gradients and fluctuations are analyzed with the collected magnetic signals to determine the mine source, predict earthquakes, etc. Microwave communication devices such as antennas, resonators, filters, delay lines, etc. made of superconducting films have high sensitivity unmatched by conventional materials (such as gold, silver, etc.) key technologies. In addition, superconducting thin films are also widely used in large particle accelerators. At present, the price of a single superconducting pure niobium resonator for accelerators exceeds 1 million yuan, and the large scientific installations that have been constructed in China need about 900 superconducting resonators. Demand will exceed 10,000. For the wireless communication market, base stations using high-temperature superconducting microwave devices are the development trend of future communication. The current annual demand for large-area double-sided yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) films with a unit price of nearly 10,000 yuan is 1,000 pieces, and the annual demand is increasing year by year. Increment. It can be seen that the market potential of practical superconducting thin films is huge.

 

China has already ranked among the international forefront in the field of high-temperature superconductivity research and practical materials such as NbTi wire, but some key technologies aimed at application, such as high-quality large-area YBCO double-sided film, Nb3Sn curved film, etc., are still in line with the international advanced level. gap. The team hopes to integrate domestic advantages in superconducting material exploration, superconducting thin film preparation, high-throughput combined thin film technology and low-temperature technology, solve a series of key technical problems, and open up the main chain from basic research to practical application. This is of strategic significance for breaking through the foreign blockade of key core technologies and promoting the development of large-scale particle accelerators and high-frequency microwave devices for communication in my country.
